A grocery vendor from the Maldives sells imported fruit at the main market in the Maldivian capital Male on October 20, 2013, a day after Police in the Maldives forced postponement of presidential polls, declaring the vote illegal in a decision that sparked international concern. The outgoing president Mohamed Waheed called for the elections to be held next weekend, in a statement released late on October 19, adding he was "concerned about the delay in holding election as planned".
