CORRECTION-SOMALIA-UNREST-AU
A handout released on October 25 by the African Union-United Nations Information Support Team shows the Head of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union
Commission for Somalia, Ambassador Mahamat Saleh Annadif (4th left), greeting members of the African Union's Peace and Security Council (PSC) at Aden Abdulle International Airport, having arrived for it's first visit to the Somali capital Mogadishu. The PSC is the AU’s 15-member standing decision-making body responsible for the maintenance of continental peace and security. During the visit, the Council met with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud where it called for an extra 6,300 troops and police forAMISOM as well as enhanced engineering capabilities and much needed equipment including military utility helicopters and armored personnel carriers.
