RUSSIA-POLITICS-PROTEST-RACISM
A man holds a portrait of late Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin as activists of various Russian nationalist movements take part in a rally during the National Unity Day in Saint Petersburg on November 4, 2013. About 10,000 Russian ultra-nationalists marched across Moscow on Monday in an annual show of anger against the presence of Muslim migrants that witnessed dozens of arrests. The so-called "Russian March" -- an event coinciding with a new Unity Day holiday President Vladimir Putin introduced to commemorate the expulsion of Poles from Moscow in 1612 -- has been regularly accompanied by attacks against ethnic minorities and foreigners working in the city. The National Unity Day holiday was created in 2005 to replace the traditional November 7 celebration of the 1917 Bolshevik rise to power. AFP PHOTO / OLGA MALTSEVA
