Peru's former president (1990-2000), Alberto Fujimori, who faces trial on charges that he funneled public money to tabloid newspapers who duly lambasted opponents during his brutal tenure, appears in court for a hearing in Lima, on November 07, 2013. Prosecutors want Fujimori, who is serving a 25-year sentence after being convicted in 2009 of human rights violations during his presidency, to get another eight years in jail and a $1 million fine for the alleged diversion of $43 million to tabloids that attacked the opposition and slammed his rivals during his 2000 re-election campaign.
