BRITAIN-RELIGION-ANGLICAN-SYNOD
A female member of the clergy smiles after vote was passed in favour of proposals which could allow the ordination of women bishops during the third and final day of the Church of England General Synod in central London on November 20, 2013. The Church of England's national assembly gave strong backing to the principle of allowing women bishops. The General Synod voted 378 to eight in favour of the move, clearing the way for a possible vote next year which could bring the measure into Church legislation. AFP PHOTO/CARL COURT
