FRANCE-ARCHAEOLOGY


A picture taken on September 27, 2013 shows a statue menhir of 2,07 metres in height and 90 cms in width that was discovered in La Salvetat-sur-Agout and which differs from all the ones previously found between Rouergue and Haut-Languedoc. The carved standing stone is in an exceptional condition according Michel Maille, one of the experts who worked at the excavation site under Jean Gasco, in charge of research at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).
