FRANCE-LITERATURE-AUCTION
Auctioneer Eric Beaussant presents on November 25, 2013 in Paris a handwritten copy of "Memoires d'outre-tombe" (Memoirs from Beyond the Grave) by late French author Francois-Rene Chateaubriand (1768-1848), which will be auctioned off at the Hotel Drouot auction house in Paris on November 26. Signed by the author in 1847 and published posthumously, this sole known full copy of Chateaubriand's work could be ranked as a "national treasure", which could prevent it from being sold outside France.
