(FILES) A photo taken on September 30, 2010 shows a Chevrolet Volt electric car presented at the Paris Auto Show on the first day of the two-day press days. US auto giant General Motors said on December 5, 2013 it would largely withdraw its Chevrolet brand from the European market by 2016, citing the "difficult economic situation" on the continent. From 2016, GM will sell only iconic Chevrolet models such as the Corvette in Western Europe, while it will keep selling the mainstream Chevrolet models in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a group of former Soviet countries.
