SAUDI-CHINA-GENETICS-PALM
Saudi second deputy Prime Minister Prince Muqrin Bin Abdulaziz (unseen) inaugurates the website of the first Saudi Human Genome Project in the Middle East at the King Abdulaziz City for Science in Riyadh on December 8, 2013. Scientists from Saudi Arabia and China said they have completed mapping the genome of the date-palm tree, whose fruit is a staple food in many regions, in a project which they have been working on since 2008.
