The body of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar, scion of the Mysore royal family who died of a massive cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Bangalore, lies at the Mysore Palace as members of the public pay their last respects in Mysore on December 11, 2013. The Wodeyar dynasty ruled the Kingdom of Mysore from 1399 to 1947 until independence from British rule and the unification of the Indian dominion and princely states into the Republic of India.
