(FILES) Photo dated September 5, 1983 shows US actress Joan Fontaine at a press conference during the 9th American Film Festival of Deauville. The Oscar-winning actress, who rose to fame during Hollywood's golden age as the star of several Alfred Hitchcock classics, died on December 15, 2013 aged 96, US media reports said. The Hollywood Reporter cited Fontaine's assistant Susan Pfeiffer as saying the actress died from natural causes at her home in Carmel, northern California. EDS NOTE: B/W only.
