Ghanaian international forward Abdul Majeed Waris (R) and the president of French Valenciennes football club Jean Raymond Legrand give a press conference on January 3, 2014 in Valenciennes, northern France. Abdul Majeed Waris has joined Valenciennes on loan from Spartak Moscow until the end of the season, the French Ligue 1 club announced on on January 2, 2014. The 22-year-old was top scorer in the Swedish top flight in 2012 with Hacken, netting 23 goals in 29 games, before moving to Russia. Having featured for the Black Stars in their decisive World Cup qualifying play-off win against Egypt in November, he is looking to impress enough in France to book his place in the Ghana squad for the finals in Brazil.
