FRANCE-WEATHER-CYCLONE-REUNION-BEJISA
French Minister for Overseas Territories Victorin Lurel (C) visits an agricultural region in Piton Hyacinthe in the commune Le Tampon of the French overseas department of Reunion on January 4, 2014 to ascertain the extent of the damage after the passing of cyclone Bejisa. One person died and 15 were injured after Bejisa cyclone packing winds of 150 kilometres (95 miles) an hour brushed by the French Indian Ocean island of Reunion, officials said on January 3. A red alert asking residents to remain indoors was lifted. But the cyclone caused widespread damage uprooting trees, damaging and flooding dozens of homes and severing power and water supplies.
