FRANCE-ANTI-SEMITISM-RACISM-GOVERNMENT-PEOPLE
A man (R) performs a "quenelle" (a rolled food item made of fish or meat) salute as others hold a placard with the word "Quenelle, Naoded" and a pineapple after the cancellation of the performance of French controversial humorist Dieudonne M'bala M'bala on January 9, 2014 at the Zenith in Saint-Herblain, western France. The Conseil d'Etat (French State Council) overturned a decision by a judge in Nantes to lift a ban on the controversial humorist's performance, forcing today the cancellation of the show, just hours before he took stage. The pineapple is in reference to a song by the comic, seen as mocking the survivors and victims of the Holocaust by using the word "Shoananas" (a mix of "ananas" (pineapple) and "Shoah" (holocaust).
