Men perform a "quenelle" (a rolled food item made of fish or meat) salute as pineapples lay on a French flag after the cancellation of the performance of French controversial humorist Dieudonne M'bala M'bala on January 9, 2014 at the Zenith in Saint-Herblain, western France. The quenelle, which involves holding the right arm straight while pointing it towards the ground and touching the right bicep with the left hand, has been described as a sort of disguised Nazi salute. The pineapple is in reference to a song by Dieudonne, seen as mocking the survivors and victims of the Holocaust by using the word "Shoananas" (a mix of "ananas" (pineapple) and "Shoah" (holocaust)).
