Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure speaks after being declared winner of CAF African Footballer of the Year Award in Lagos on January 9, 2014.The Ivory Coast international who won the previous two editions of the award, in 2011 and 2012, defeated compatriot Didier Drogba and his closest rival Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel, who helped Nigeria to win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa and also featured for Chelsea to win the UEFA Europa League. Toure, 31, has not won a major trophy for club and country last year, but his class has shone through at both his English Premier League club and the Elephants of the Ivory Coast.
