CENTRAFRICA-UNREST
French soldiers part of the Sangaris operation hold their position on January 10, 2014 at the entrance of Bangui Mpoko airport as displaced people line up after the annonce of the demission of Centrafrican President Michel Djotodia and his Prime minister Nicolas Tiangaye. Djotodia stepped down under regional pressure after failing to stem sectarian violence ripping his country apart. Regional leaders, who had piled pressure on Djotodia to step down during their summit in Chad, called it a "highly patriotic decision" to wrest the country out of paralysis, while France urged transition authorities to decide swiftly on a new caretaker president.
