FRANCE-ENVIRONMENT-CHEMISTRY-PARLIAMENT-PLASTIC-FILES
(FILES) -- A file picture taken on October 17, 2005 shows used plastic bags in plastic bag salvage container in a hypermarket near Lyon, central-eastern France. The French National Assembly passed a law in 2005 banning the commercialisation and distribution of non-biodegradable plastic bags, which took effect in 2010. In an article published by AFP on January 13, 2014, French socialist MP Arnaud Leroy said he hoped that a law he submitted in early 2013 banning plastic bags treated to be biodegradable would be examined before June.
