SAILING-FRA-RECORD-COVILLE
A handout picture taken and released on January 17, 2014 by the French Marine Nationale and shot from an aircraft over the Atlantic Ocean, around 90 km southwest of Brest, western France, shows the maxi trimaran "Sodebo" of French skipper Thomas Coville after his departure from Brest earlier in the day, in a new attempt to beat the record of the non-stop solo round the world voyage. Coville, 45, attempted in November 2013 to beat the record currently held by French skipper Francis Joyon, but had to turn back due to damage to the vessel. Coville had already tried to beat Joyon's 2008 record of 57 days, 13 hours and 34 minutes in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
