(FILES) -- A file picture taken on January 27, 2013 shows French skipper Armel Le Cleac'h celebrating aboard his monohull "Banque Populaire" following journalists' questions after finishing second of the 7th edition of the Vendee Globe solo round-the-world race in Les Sables d'Olonne, western France. Le Cleac'h broke the record of the greatest distance covered in 24 hours by sail in solo, with 677 miles travelled (1.253,8km) at a median speed of 28,230 knots (32.5 mph / 52.2 km/h) aboard his "Banque Populaire maxi-trimaran, his team announced on January 26, 2014.
