JAPAN-US-SCIENCE-AWARD
David Allis, professor of the Rockefeller University in the US speaks alongside Japan's Tokyo Institute of Technology honorary professor Yasuharu Suematsu (not in picture) at a press conference in Tokyo on January 29, 2014 after the announcement that they jointly won the Japan Prize award. Allis won the "Life Science" field award for his achievement of the discovery of histone modifications in the cell nucleus, while Suematsu won the "Electronics, Information and Communication" field award for his research on semiconductor laser for long distance optical fiber communication.
