(FILES) A photo taken on March 11, 2013 at the Vatican shows German cardinal Joachim Meisner. The German Catholic leader was forced to apologise on January 29, 2014 over comments that sparked indignation among the country's Muslim community and proponents of a multicultural society. Meisner, had praised the high birth rate of many Catholics, telling followers: "I always say, one of your families to me replaces three Muslim families".
