FIBA's Sport Director Lubomir Kotleba holds a result paper bearing the name of France, between former player Juan 'Epi' San Epifanio (L) and former player from Angola Jean Jacques Conceicao (R) during the FIBA Basketball World Cup official draw for the 2014 world cup in the Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona on February 3, 2014. Twenty four teams have been classified on the basis of the FIBA ranking men as well as geographical principles with teams from the same continent being evenly distributed in six teams pots with the draw placing teams into four preliminary round groups with their positions within those groups determined.
