An officer of the French army shows visiting journalists rockets gathered by French soldiers of the Sangaris military operation and seized during patrols from Christian vigilantes known as "anti-balaka" (anti-machete) and ex-rebels from the Seleka at the Mpoko camp in Bangui on February 7, 2014. International Criminal Court prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said February 7 that she has opened an initial probe into "serious crimes" in the Central African Republic, where thousands are fleeing sectarian violence. "My office has reviewed many reports detailing acts of extreme brutality... and allegations of serious crimes being committed," she said in a statement from the ICC's headquarters in The Hague.
