US-FRANCE-DIPLOMACY-FILES
(FILES) File photo dated November 7, 2007 shows French President Nicolas Sarkozy (L) and US President George W. Bush (R) at the conclusion of a joint press conference at the George Washington residence in Mount Vernon, Virginia. Six months after his election, Sarkozy came to the United States for a working visit in order to highlight the importance of the French-American friendship against a backdrop of tensions born from the war in Iraq. Current French President François Hollande arrives in the United States for a state visit February 10, 2014. He'll visit Monticello, Virginia, Washington, DC and San Francisco, California in three days. Hollande follows in the tracks of his predecessors Charles De Gaulle (April 1960), Georges Pompidou (February 1970), Valery Giscard d'Estaing (May 1976), Francois Mitterrand (March 1984), Jacques Chirac (January 1996), and Nicolas Sarkozy (November 2007).
