AFGHANISTAN-REFUGEE-UNREST-AID
To go with story 'Afghanistan-refugee-unrest-aid-conflicts' by Emal Haidary
In this photograph taken on January 12, 2014 Afghan man, Mohammad Khoja, 79, sits in his house in Aliceghan, some 30 kilometers north of Kabul. Aliceghan was supposed to be a haven for war-torn Afghanistan's returning refugees and a symbol of resurgence after the dark years of the Taliban. Six years on, it has come to highlight the myriad obstacles facing development projects in the country and an exodus of residents has left it feeling like a ghost town. AFP PHOTO/JOHANNES EISELE
