Honda President Hiroyuki Yoshino stands beside the company's new compact multi-purpose wagon, "Mobilio Spike" during its press preview in a Tokyo hotel 18 September 2002. Applying the "garage box" concept, Honda developed the 1.5-liter-engine Mobilio Spike to meet the needs of consumers who view their cars as tools for enjoyment. Honda put the car on the Japanese market from 19 September with price range between 1.349 million yen (11,058 USD) and 1.679 million yen (13,763 USD).
