GERMANY-ART-FORGERY-ENTERTAINMENT-BELTRACCHI
German art forger and artist Wolfgang Beltracchi (R) and his Helene arrive for the premiere of the movie "Beltracchi - The Art of Forgery" on February 25, 2014 in Cologne, western Germany. The documentary traces one of Germany's greatest art scandals set off by former hippie and talented artist Wolfgang Beltracchi , who forged dozens of paintings over a period of 35 years, earned millions by fooling top collectors and museums. Beltracchi, his wife, and two accomplices sold the fake paintings as original works by famous artists including Max Ernst, Heinrich Campendonk, Fernand Léger and Kees van Dongen. In 2011 Beltracchi was sentenced to 6 years in prison.
