ROMANIA-US-AFGHANISTAN-ARMY
US General-Major John O'Connor (L) and Romanian General-Major Laurian Anastasof (C), Romanian Air Forces Chief of Staff cut the ribbon during the official opening ceremony inside the new facility of The Transit Center (TCNK) of 21 TSC (Theater Sustainment Command) at Mihail Kogalniceanu military airbase on February 28, 2014. The 21 TSC will support the transit of around 30,000 US Army personnel detached from or to Afghanistan. The temporary air transit facility provides essential logistical, transportation, reintegration and morale and welfare services, accommodating the flow of American service members into and out of European and Central Asian operating areas through the end of 2014 or the completion of current missions.
