JAPAN-US-MARSHALLS-NUCLEAR-ENVIRONMENT

A man holding a portrait of Aikichi Kuboyama, chief radioman of Japanese fishing boat Daigo Fukuryumaru who died of acute organ malfunction, leads anti-nuclear protestors during a march in Yaizu, Shizuoka prefecture, west of Tokyo on March 1, 2014. Some 2,000 people marched to mark the 60th anniversary of a US hydrogen bomb test at Bikini Atoll, amid heightened anti-nuclear sentiment in the country after the Fukushima crisis. The 1954 test exposed residents on the Marshall Islands to radiation, with the fallout also contaminating the Japanese tuna fishing boat Daigo Fukuryu Maru, which was near the atoll when the test occurred.
