(FILES) -- A file picture taken on June 27, 2013 shows packs of cigarettes displayed at the checkout of a tobacconist shop in Bethune, northern France. In the three years following a comprehensive ban in workplaces and other enclosed public spaces which took effect in France at the start of 2008, the proportion of adults in the country who regularly smoke went up, but figures published in February 2014 by the national drugs watchdog (OFDT) revealed that, in 2013, the number of cigarettes sold in France fell by 7.6 percent.
