FILES-SRI LANKA-SKOREA-WILDLIFE-ELEPHANTS
(FILES) In this photograph taken October 8, 2007, baby elephants roam with their mothers at the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawala, some 90 kms northeast of Colombo. Sri Lanka stopped a baby elephant going to South Korea after discovering it was born on the same day troops declared victory over Tamil rebels, a minister said March 12, 2014. The baby "Dinu Daa," meaning day of victory, and earmarked to be flown to South Korea as a gift, was born on May 18, 2009, the same day troops killed Tamil rebel leader Velupillai Prabhakaran. Dinu Daa was born at the country's main Pinnawala elephant orphanage established in central Sri Lanka in 1975. It shelters over 80 elephants, most of whom were abandoned or separated from their herds when they were babies. AFP PHOTO/Prakash SINGH/FILES
