PAKISTAN-UN-IPCC-CLIMATE-WARMING-IMPACTS-FILES

TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY RICHARD INGHAM

(FILES) -- A file picture taken on August 9, 2010 shows an aerial view from a Pakistan army rescue helicopter of residents in a flood-affected area on the outskirts of Sukkur. South Asia is the world's most climate-vulnerable region, its fast-growing populations badly exposed to flood, drought, storms and sea-level rise, according to a survey of 170 nations published on October 20, 2010. UN scientists are set to deliver their darkest report yet on the impacts of climate change, pointing to a future stalked by floods, drought, conflict and economic damage if carbon emissions go untamed, during the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in Yokohama beginning on March 25, 2014, likely to shape policies and climate talks for years to come.
