YEMEN-UNREST-KIDNAPPING-GERMANY
An image grab taken from AFPTV on April 1, 2014 at an unknown location in Yemen allegedly shows German citizen, identified as Rudiger Schwidt (L), who has been held hostage for months after he was kidnapped in a tribal region of Yemen, shaking hands with a television presenter (R) as his kidnapper bearing a Kalashnikov looks on (C-background) during his appearance on a private television channel Al-Yemen today. Schwidt was kidnapped in Sanaa in late January by a tribesman pressing authorities to release his two detained sons, according to a foreign ministry official.
