VP-16 is deployed in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The hunt for more black box "pings" from missing Malaysian airliner MH370 was narrowing on April 10, 2014 to a specific patch of remote ocean after two more signals were detected.
