JAPAN-IT-OFFBEAT-DESIGN
This handout picture released by University of Tsukuba assistant professor Hirotaka Osawa on April 19, 2014 shows the "AgencyGlass", developed by Osawa, which has OLED screens in the prototype dark glasses to display emotional expression with wearer's digital eyeball images at Osawa's laboratory in Tsukuba in Ibaraki prefecture, suburban Tokyo. The two organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screens, which are connected to motion sensors and an external camera, show a pair of eyeballs that can appear to be making eye contact while the wearer is looking somewhere else entirely. The wearer has to choose their emotion in advance -- if they want to appear "attentive", for example, they must switch it to this mode before putting the glasses on.
