ALBANIA-LEKA I-POLITICS
Albanian pretender to the throne, Leka I gives a press conference to announce he will launch a new political movement called The Movement for National Development 01 June 2004, in Tirana. Leka, the son of the late King Zog, left Albania as an infant when Italy invaded Albania in 1939, and after a failed attempt to re-institute the monarchy in 1997, returned for good in Albania from a life-long exile in 2002, declaring that he had no political ambitions.
