INDONESIA-NETHERLAND-HISTORY
TO GO WITH STORY Indonesia-Netherlands-history,FEATURE by Olivia Rondonuwu
This picture taken in Bulukumba on December 09, 2013 shows Indonesian Andi Aisyah, 90-year-old, whose husband and son were killed in a massacre, ordered by notorious Dutch forces captain, Raymond Westerling, who masterminded the campaign on Sulawesi during the 1940s war of independence in its former colony Indonesia. The darkest episode was the 1946-47 operation by the Dutch to reassert control in Sulawesi after they were almost driven out by insurgents, which saw thousands of suspected rebel fighters killed.
