The chief executive of Chonghaejin Marine Co., the maritime company that owns the South Korean ferry "Sewol" which sunk recently, Kim Han-Sik, appears before the media as he arrives at a coastguard office in Mokpo, after being taken into custody on May 8, 2014. The head of the maritime company that owns the South Korean ferry that sank with the loss of around 300 lives last month was detained ahead of formal manslaughter charges. The charges stem from allegations that Kim was involved in, or turned a blind eye to, the overloading of the 6,825-ton ferry's cargo consignment -- seen as a major contributing factor to its capsize.
