The House Veterans Affairs Committee voted on May 8, 2014 to subpoena Shinseki for emails and documents tied to an alleged secret "waiting list" for sick veterans at a Phoenix, Arizona, VA hospital. VA officials at a Phoenix facility are accused od keeping a secret list of patients waiting for appointments to hide treatment delays. Some 40 patients allegedly may have died because of the delays.
