People attend a wreath laying ceremony on May 12, 2014, at the Berlin Airlift memorial outside Tempelhof airport in Berlin, commemorating the airlift during the Cold War Berlin blockade. Allied and German military officials, along with veterans of the airlift, commemorated the 65th anniversary of the end of the airlift which US and allied aircraft flew in 4.000 tons of food and supplies daily for the population of west Berlin for almost a year in Berlin.
