People suffering from cholera lie on beds at the Juba Teaching Hospital on May 20, 2014. At least nine people have died in a cholera outbreak in war-torn South Sudan, scores of others are sick and the epidemic looks set to worsen, the World Health Organization said on May 19, 2014. The outbreak of the highly contagious disease has raised the spectre of an even broader spread, given that 1.3 million South Sudanese have been forced from their homes by five months of fighting.
