FRANCE-POLITICS-CORRUPTION-INVESTIGATION
Executive manager of French PR company Bygmalion, Richard Gibeaud, arrives at Bygmalion's offices in Paris on May 26, 2014, as a search is carried out as part of an investigation into corruption allegations involving the systematic over-billing of Bygmalion the French right-wing opposition Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) party. The probe was launched on March 5 following revelations by weekly Le Point that Jean-Francois Cope, leader of the UMP party to which former French president Nicolas Sarkozy also belongs, allegedly used his influence to channel party contracts to the PR company, which then charged the UMP more than the market rate.
