RUGBYU-ENG-FRA-WILKINSON-FILES
TO GO WITH AFP STORIES
Toulon's captain Jonny Wilkinson holds the European cup in the stadium on the team's return to Toulon on June 2, 2013 after losing the Top 14 rugby final against Castres in Saint-Denis. England World Cup hero Jonny Wilkinson will retire as a player on May 31, 2014 at the end of the season after Toulon's European Cup and French Top 14 finals. The fly-half, most famous for winning the 2003 World Cup for England with an extra-time drop goal against Australia, only ever played for two clubs during his 17-year long career, joining big-spending Toulon from Newcastle in 2009.
