The "e6" by auto maker BYD - a pure electric car - is introduced to lawmakers at the Philippines' House of Representatives in Manila as an alternative vehicle to free the country from its dependence on fossil fuels and help with the battle against global warming on June 2, 2014. The small, four-door sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 kms an hour in ten seconds with a top speed of 140 kms/hr. A 2.5-hour fully charged battery can run an estimated 300 kms (180 miles).
