In this photograph taken on May 6, 2014, a Pakistani Shiite Muslim (C), who was injured in a car bomb attack in March 2013 speaks with neighbours in the Shiite neighbourhood of Abbas Town in Karachi. Pakistan's Shiite Muslim community has lost parents, brothers and friends in an unprecedented wave of religious violence. They have been told not to respond but their anger has only grown. Now Pakistan's minority Shiite Muslims are fighting back against Sunnis, threatening a dangerous and destabilising escalation of the nuclear-armed state's underground sectarian conflict.
