WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 06: American World War II veteran Donald Marks (L), 90, and Herman Zeitchik, 90, both of Maryland, are thanked for their service during the 70th anniversary D-Day commemoration at the WWII Memorial on the National Mall June 6, 2014 in Washington, DC. Marks served with the 3104th Signal Service Battalion and Zeitchik was one of the first infantrymen on the Utah Beach during the invasion of Normandy by allied troops that turned the tide of the war.
