Solo was in jail on June 21, 2014 after being arrested on two counts of domestic violence assault for allegedly hitting her sister and nephew, The Seattle Times reported. Solo, a standout goalkeeper for the US women's national team and for the Seattle Reign of the National Women's Soccer League, was taken into custody on the evening of June 20 and was set to remain behind bars until a Monday hearing at Kirkland Municipal Court.
