BELGIUM-TRIAL-DUTROUX-NIHOUL
Former Belgian businessman Michel Nihoul sits in the dock of the courthouse in the southeastern Belgian town of Arlon 21 June 2004, where the court is expected to announce sentences 22 or 22 June 2004 against Belgian pedophile Marc Dutroux and his three co-defendants -- Nihoul, estranged wife Michelle Martin and right-hand man Michel Lelievre -- all charged with the kidnapping and rape of six girls and the murder of four of them . The 12 jurors split seven-five on Nihoul-s guilt when the trial ended 17 June 2004 but declared him not guilty after they were ordered by the three trial judges to reconsider their verdict. Nihoul, 63, was acquitted over the affair, but still faces up to 20 years in jail for drug-dealing, peddling false documents and trading in stolen vehicles. AFP PHOTO PPOL
