This picture taken on October 3, 2013 shows Chinese military hospital ship "Peace Ark", which would take part in the US-led "Rimpac" naval drills, on a rescue mission in Xisha Islands, or the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea. Chinese warships will join US-led naval drills off Hawaii for the first time this week, in a significant but mainly symbolic effort by the two powers' fighting forces to make friends, not war.
